By definition the family rec room is that universally recognized getaway spot within the home where mom, dad, and the kids retreat for some much needed relaxation.

Second, improve your design. If the purpose of this room is to serve as an in-house “getaway” for your family, why not model the area after your favorite vacation spot—perhaps the lodge/cabin up in the mountains?
